what might you expect to learn from it? In short, Chi-Do is a generic term that has been used by many different teachers
to describe ‘Working with Chi energy’. The system that you will be shown in the classes here is a way of
life that teaches one how to be a complete individual. You may learn how to live your life to the full, without many
of the stresses to be found in a purely commercial way of life.
Chi-Do is the culmination of some 50 years of study into how the mind and body works. It
is a view on how humans fit in to this all being that we call the 3rd dimension and beyond. The exercises are carefully
choreographed, designed and researched to achieve a healthy balance of body, mind and spirit.
How can you
know what is learnt? The training and development is very subtle and is designed to open the mind to all possibility.
It will be difficult to describe what you have learnt to others who are not familiar with the methods or philosophy. As you
develop you will explore ideas and progress with your fellow students. What is the purpose of the instructors? We
are all here to lead by example and to allow you to learn without taking from you the joy of learning for yourself.
None of us have had your life. We will not live your life for you or tell you how to do so.
Where is
the root of Chi-Do? It is in experience and geometry in action. This is shown in the Chi-Do Chi Kung and the Animal
form. It is shown in the blending of concepts and ideas into practical applications. One learns from the basics
and as one progresses, you will realise that the circles and interactions lead you back more and more to the basics and the
importance of constant practice. This is learning by deepening layers of understanding. What in practical
terms will you learn? You will learn self confidence, self defence, control of yourself, the ability to face situations
with a clear mind and freedom from panic. You will learn self respect and dignity with the ability to face life with
a smile. You will develop a discipline of fitness of mind and body working together. You will be shown how to
attain self respect and to show respect for others in your life. To find out who you are is the first step on this long
ladder to enlightenment. The training is a preparation for life. All aspects of the Chi-Do Association are linked
to this one aim. The martial arts are considered to be a completion of the healing arts, giving a fully balanced view
of the world and yourself. All classes of Tai Chi, Chi Kung, Chi healing, therapy courses, martial arts are part of this
process. Live this life to the full and have fun whilst doing so.
Helping others with mercy,
tolerance and to be non judgemental is part of self development. Each society has rules for very good reason and
good conduct is necessary for a clear mind.
Live life and just BE.
