The art of Chi-Do takes it's roots in both Japanese
and Chinese arts with a mix of all styles including Aikido, Karate, Judo, Tai Chi, Chi Kung in a unique system founded
by me in 1998 after some 45 years of training.
Chi-Do is really
a description of a way of life itself, that one lives the Way of Chi and each person that uses this name has qualified it
with the name of the style founder. Our Chi-Do is a very spiritual approach to life where all students are taught
at their own pace to develop fully. This is Self Development to the highest degree of training in an art that is
designed for the Western Mind.
With all apologies to the masters who taught me, the arts have
been Westernised but retain all the inherent respectful traditions and protocols that are the discipline of Martial Arts.
Because of the nature of training, no one under 13 years of age is accepted.
Quite simply, the art demands too high a degree of study and let's face facts, if youngsters started using these techniques,
they would likely kill each other. Falls onto concrete are potentially very dangerous.
Virtually
all the moves are Parry and Strike using Fa Jin. Those who come from having trained in Karate, Wing Chun and Aikido
will find many similarities.
Too difficult to explain, simply come along and try it.
Many instructors from other arts come from time to time to learn this side
of the arts and they are always welcome.
It is always our philosophy
to be grateful for the input of others to our classes. we are all here to learn and it is this that makes waking every
day so enjoyable.
