The Chi Clinic was opened at it's present location
in November 1999. Tony Hardiman had conducted therapies and taught under that title since 1995 from his house in
Stoneleigh.
Tony and Vicky Ahern are partners since November 99 and each is
fully qualified in the various therapies offered here.
Tony has practiced
martial and healing arts for over 50 years and is skilled in many different therapies. He was awarded honorary 5th dan
in 1997 and Master of Chi-Do in 1999. He was awarded Gold at the British Championships in April 09 for the Tai Chi 24
forms.
He is an Advanced Tai Chi Instructor and registered with the Tai Chi Union.
In December 2009,
Tony was awarded the highly prestigious rank of SENIOR PRACTITIONER with the Institute for Complementary and natural Healthcare
and upgraded on the BRCP. This is high honour and reflects the 54 years of training and practice that has lead to this
award.
Vicky practices acupuncture and massage and teaches
Tai Chi and Qigong. She is 2nd Dan Black belt Chi-do Martial Arts and Senior Instructor in the Lee Tai Chi
Centre. Her reputation for compassion and sensitvity has been built over the last 10 years of training.
Vicky is registered as an Advanced tai Chi Instructor with the Tai Chi Union.
Lee Fairweather has trained in martial arts since he was six years old and is an accomplished personal trainer,
Tai Chi Instructor and Founder of the Lee Tai Chi Centre. He is the ONLY person to whom Tony Hardiman has awarded Master.
This was done at the request of the students and as such, is honour indeed. Lee is registered as an Advanced tai Chi
Instructor with the Tai Chi Union.
Lee
also practices acupuncture, massage and physical therapy. He was awarded Gold in the Oxford Open Championships
in April 06.
Grant Cook is 1st Black in Chi-do and has qualified as
a Self Defence Instructor after having trained under Tony Hardiman for 5 years having previously trained in NinJutsu
for 7 years. He is also a competent in Massage & Chi Healing having qualified in Chi-do Therapy at level A.
We have an Affiliated Karate club that is run by Sensei Norman James 4th Dan. Norman has trained
in Karate for over 35 years and has a class in Ripley.
The shop is open
from 10 am until 5 pm, Tuesdays to Saturdays for the sale of Martial Arts equipment and books. Please always phone before
calling in as the above opening times are changeable during treatments and classes.
Treatments
costs from the 1st of January 2010 are £45 per session with Tony, with Vicky £40 and the class fees
are usually £8 per person with Tony, £7 with Lee or Vicky or as quoted for a course or seminar. Full
time students and those on benefits are £4. Martial arts insurance and membership of the CDA and BCMA are as quoted
at the time.
