Many of our readers like to know about the company and people behind the Chi Clinic.  Here we will tell you a little about ourselves. 

You can contact us on 020 8641 3756 for appointments or to ask any questions between 10am to 5 pm Tuesday to Saturday.  If we are busy and cannot get to the phone, please leave a message and we will contact you as soon as we can.  Please respect our after hours time and our only day off on a Monday.

Our Business Philosophy

The objective of our business is to provide a high quality, reliable service for our clients, students and visitors.  Whether one is here for training or for treatment, you will find a friendly and informal reception with a welcoming atmosphere that encourages all who come here.  We hope you will enjoy visiting our web site and appreciate the frustration that accompanied a technophobe such as me in putting it together!!!  Easy peezie once you know how.

In June 2008, we were pleased to award to Paul Smith the rank of 2nd Dan in Chi-Do Martial Arts.  Paul has been with us for many years and has shown the mercy and good grace that we look for in all of our instructors.  The award has been made by the concensus of the examiners, Master Tony, Sensei Norman & Sensei Carl Ryan,

Our Company

The Chi Clinic was opened at it's present location in November 1999.  Tony Hardiman had conducted therapies and taught under that title since 1995 from his house in Stoneleigh.

Tony and Vicky Ahern are partners since November 99 and each is fully qualified in the various therapies offered here. 

Tony Hardiman has practiced martial and healing arts for over 50 years and is skilled in many different therapies.  He was awarded honorary 5th dan in 1997 and Master of Chi-Do in 1999.  He is registered as an Advanced Tai Chi Instructor with the Tai Chi Union of Great Britain.  Tony was awarded a Gold medal at the British Open Tai Chi Championships in April 2009 for his 24 Forms.

In December 2009, Tony was awarded the highly prestigious rank of SENIOR PRACTITIONER with the Institute for Complementary and Natural Healthcare and upgraded on the BRCP.  This is high honour and reflects the 54 years of training and practice that has lead to this award.


Vicky Ahern practices Acupuncture, Massage, Chi-Do Therapy (Hardiman methods) & teaches Tai Chi & Qigong.  She is 2nd Dan Black belt in Chi-do Martial Arts & Tai Chi & Qigong Instructor, having also trained in Aikido & Karate.  Her reputation for compassion & sensitivity has been built over the last 12 years of training, learning & practice.  Vicky is registered as an Advanced Tai Chi Instructor with the Tai Chi Union of Great Britiain & was awarded Bronze medal in the British Open Tai Chi Championships at Oxford in April 2009 for her 24 Forms. 

Vicky is proud to be among the first European instructors to qualify to teach the Taiji Kung Fu Fan under Master Faye Li Yip, Founder & Chief Instructor of the Deyin Taijiquan Institute GB. 
 
Vicky was honoured to be invited by the British Health Qigong Assoc to attend the 1st Health Qigong Seminar for International Instructors in Beijing from 13th to 19th December 2011 held at the Beijing International Spa & Fitness Centre.  124 instructors from 31 countries were given instruction & practice of 3 of the Health Qigong forms over 6 days of seminars by the creators of the modern forms & each was examined on all 3 forms to earn the prestigious certificate at the closing ceremony.  (For more indepth article, see www.healthqigong.co.uk)
 
Grant Cook is 1st Black in Chi-do and has qualified as a Self Defence Instructor after having trained under Tony Hardiman for 5 years having previously trained in NinJutsu for 7 years.   He is also a competent in Massage & Chi Healing having qualified in Chi-do Therapy at level A.

We have an Affiliated Karate club that is run by Sensei Norman James 4th Dan.  Norman has trained in Karate for over 35 years and runs Bu Yu Kai Karate in Ripley.

The shop is open from 10 am until 5 pm, Tuesdays to Saturdays for the sale of Martial Arts equipment and books.  Please always phone before calling in as the above opening times are changeable during treatments and classes.

Treatment costs from the 1st of April 2011 are £45 per session with Tony, with Vicky £40 and the class fees are usually £8 per person with Tony or £10 for the Martial Arts, £7 with Vicky or as quoted for a course or seminar.  Full time students and those on benefits are £5.  Martial arts insurance and membership of the CDA and BCMA are as quoted at the time.
